"Give me a song that I can feel"

The highly sensitive person (HSP) and the journey

their potential in (work) life

What probably only comes to mind for many people when they come into contact with the topic of high sensitivity are sensitive, somewhat thin-skinned people, spiritually and artistically inclined, very intelligent, structured but not very resilient, tire quickly and a more introverted character. But highly sensitive people are much more than that.

Today it is known that around 15-20% of the world's population is highly sensitive. This predisposition also affects the animal world.

High sensitivity is not a disease, has no diagnosis and is not treatable.

The high sensitivity is triggered by a hyperactive brain function, which means that the HSP perceives all surrounding stimuli unfiltered and non-stop and tries to process them as best he can. The processing of this vast amount of information that hits us through all sensory channels is processed more deeply and in a more differentiated manner than with our less sensitive fellow human beings. Experiences have a longer reverberation, experiences have a deeper effect, pain is felt more strongly. In its basic state, the system is always “busy” before the usual everyday stress and pressure to adapt to its environment make additional demands on it.

Many HSPs stride through life and have been asking themselves many agonizing WHY questions without clear answers since childhood - they just feel that they are somehow different from the rest, something may be wrong with them. Many HSPs, ignorant of their disposition and their untapped gifts, may find their life a curse. Persevering in the role of victim and suffering, they often get into mental / psychosomatic, chronic illnesses and nobody really knows what is going on. The answers are to be sought more deeply. Getting to know yourself as an HSP, knowing what lies dormant in you and how you can use it to lead an authentic, self-confident life - is a special opportunity for every HSP!

So who are HSPs? in which professions can you often find them?

It has been observed that highly sensitive people, with an exaggerated sense of beauty, for the well-being of other people, are endowed with an exaggerated sense of justice, an exaggerated sense of animals and environmental protection. They can often be found in professions such as artists, musicians, writers, auxiliary professions (doctors, therapists, coaches, pastors, police officers), human rights activists. There are also some well-known personalities in the IT world who have left their mark as great visionaries and have changed the world: Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

HSP Coaching (and Therapy for those who have gotten into psychosomatic illnesses) supports the disposition to shed light on old paralyzing patterns, to get to know own protective mechanisms and resources, to practice healthy boundaries setting, to create valuable new living spaces for oneself, to establish a self-confident way of life. At the end of this journey stands the flow to one's own strength, which can now be accepted as a gift.

Whenever a person can pour energy, creative power and spiritual nourishment out of his own original sources, he is no longer endangered by any conditions of life. He is resilient and takes every crisis as an opportunity to grow and develop in a natural way.

If you suspect that you or your children, friends, family members could also be HSPs, you can take a test attached in the Knowledge Corner. Similar tests can be found on the Internet.
